Eugen Doga’s concert at the Oltenia Philharmonic in Craiova on September 12, 2017, was a truly royal gift, according to DorinMachuka, the Philharmonic’s director. Accompanied by the orchestra directed by the famous conductor AlexandruIosub, Eugen Doga displayed his universal skills as a composer, conductor and pianist. Pieces based on Mihai Eminescu and Veronica Micle’s poetry were performed, compiled into a music cycle entitled ‘Dialogues of Love’, as well as pieces set to GrigorieVieru’s poetry, all of which Eugen Doga performed to commemorate his 80th birthday in Craiova. He played the piano while singers sang his creations; the audience applauded for a few minutes after each piece. The Philharmonic orchestra directed by AlexadruIosub performed the guest’s music superbly as well as soloist-instrumentalists Oct. Gorun, M. Tcaci, Corina Stănescu, D. Stănescu, вокалистыMihaelaPopa, Olga Şain, JaninaSpiridon, Cristian Talângă, Cristina Cristache, AndreeaBălan, N. Cucu and MirceaTudora. Not only Craiova residents attended but dear guests from other cities, such as Ion Pachia, a writer from Timishoara and Vice Mayor Tg. Jiului.
Tudor Nedelchea, writer, Doctor of Sciences.
